Minorities in Class

I think that we do technically learn about minorities in history classes. It is important to remember that just because somebody is a minority in the West, does not necessarily mean they are a minority elsewhere. Taking World History at my school meant that I got to learn a lot more about Asian and African peoples. While it was not incredibly in depth, when is school history ever in depth? I do think that LGBTQ+ people and disabled people were definitely overlooked, but it is possible that that sort of thing has only really come to the public's attention recently. Attitudes about LGBTQ+ and disabled people might be a bit too complex to cover without having a whole class for it in my opinion, but history classes should probably acknowledge them in some way.
